"Not one, but two living brothers?" Denny Carmichael slowly leans back in his outrageously large chesterfield desk chair, a smirk slowly blooming across his face. His dark eyes are locked onto a thin file splayed open before him on his desk, showcasing photos of two men.
"Well I'll be damned, Six," he licks his lips, like he's actually drooling at the mere thought of using Six’s carefully kept secrets against him. “You're not as untouchable as you thought, huh?”
Suzanne stands three paces away from Denny's desk (just as he always insists), thinking God, I really fucking hate my job.
Or: Denny orders Suzanne to hunt down and kidnap one of Six's younger brothers in order to use him in his scheme to kill Six and recover the asset. Suzanne hates her job. Eva Stratt does not appreciate the CIA kidnapping her lead astrophage scientist.

Summary
“What’s going on in that brain of yours, genius?” Colt’s voice just barely brushes over the crashing of the waves.
Ryland sucks in a breath, feeling his ribcage expand to make room for his lungs as they fill with salty air. “Just thinkin’,” he exhales.
“Yeah?” Colt squeezes his beer can lightly, making a little metallic thunk sound. “About anything in particular?”
Ryland passes his beer can from one hand to the other, wiping his wet, empty palm over his knee. His eyes drop from the void-like horizon to watch the white foam of the ocean rush toward his feet then race away. “‘M thinking about that story Mom loved to tell us.”
Even with the gentle crashing of the waves, Ryland can hear the soft huff the escapes Colt’s nose. “The one about Court?”
“Yeah,” Ryland takes another sip of his beer, hoping to wash away the thickness in his voice just like the waves clear the sand before him. A disturbance righted once again.
“Tell it to me again?” Colt asks quietly. “Tell me a story?”
Ryland and Colt sit together watching a midnight tide, reminiscing on their late big brother Court.

Summary
“Holy shit,” Hitoshi sighs out a bit of his soul, dropping his arms down to his sides in both relief and frustration washes through him. As if it sensed his woes, the sound happens again, now easier identified as a high pitched whine that draws him to the cabinet beneath the sink. With an aggressive roll of his eyes, he returns his tanto back into it’s sheath on his back and crouches down to see the shitty pipes for himself.
He yanks open the cabinet doors and—

Round eyes stare up at him, misty with unshed tears. Impossibly tiny hands fiddle anxiously around a small pinched mouth, muffling the quiet whines and whimpers of... a baby.
“What… the fuck,” Hitoshi whispers, wondering if he’s hallucinating staring at an actual, real life infant right now.
In the midst of a raid on a human trafficking stronghold, Night Hide finds a baby hidden inside a cabinet beneath a sink.
