During Dazai's heat, Chuuya did everything. He took care of Dazai, fed him, forced him to take a bath and gave him blankets and pillows for a nest. Chuuya knew how to help. Dazai isn’t sure he can do that. He doesn’t have a caring bone in his body much less the ability to use those nonexistent caring bones to take care of someone in a mating cycle. Mating cycles are a lot. He doesn't understand them.
And with Chuuya being stronger than him, if the redhead ends up not being able to control himself, Dazai can’t do anything about it.
But maybe that’s okay… it’s only their subgender instincts right? If Chuuya forces himself on Dazai, Dazai can take it. He’s an omega. Aren’t they supposed to be made for that? Being able to satisfy alphas? Aren’t instincts supposed to know what’s best for them; even if Dazai highly disagrees with the urges his instincts have? Maybe if Dazai lets his instincts take control, he’ll be able to help Chuuya.
Or maybe Dazai really is a poor excuse of a human who can't even help his partner through a rut.
That seems more likely.
