With his eyes still aimed towards the wooden floor below he confessed, “I can go back to the day you died.”
“What?” Akechi asked, a smile still present on his face, little laughter leaving his lips as he took the entire statement as a joke.
Kurusu diverted his attention towards Akechi, their eyes met for a moment as he said, “I’m serious.” Reaffirming the confession he stated only seconds before.
