Summary
“You're really gonna drink all that?” Asked Sam, concern and judgement obviously battling it out inside his head. From his tone, concern seemed to be winning for now.
“Well it’s not doing any good sitting in the bottle is it?” Dean said as he took another swig.
Three days after Dean is released from the hospital following his face-off with Alastair, Dean returns to their motel with a bottle of whiskey and his guilt and pain threatening to overwhelm him. Faced with a brother who is becoming increasingly terrifying, he begins to drink and let his mouth run, despite Sam's best efforts to get him to stop.

Summary
He shut the book in horror. It’s awful details of welded metal sinking to the bottom of the ocean bed as he sunk with it. Would the salt-water leak in slowly or fast? Maybe it would drench his clothes and steal his breath whilst Michael screamed and raged inside his head, beating himself bloody against the door that held him until it finally came loose with such explosive force that it would practically render him brain-dead.
“You’d be nothing but blood and bone.”
Dean struggles with the horror of building his own prison and accepting his fate.

Summary
“Dean, we can’t expect her to have an instant connection to us. We don’t know each other yet, not really.”
“Well leaving us is pretty much making sure that we never will.” Dean mumbled quietly, but Sam didn’t miss the resentment and disappointment lingering in his words and sighed in solidarity with his brother’s pain.
Two weeks after Mary decided to leave the bunker, Dean finds a case close by in Oklahoma to distract both himself and Sam from another fresh abandonment. However, it turns out that Dean, mommy-issues, mental asylums, ghosts, and child deaths don't mix well.

Summary
“I was going to get you out Dean. Me.”
The words burned in his throat. He had needed to be the one to free his brother whilst he had been whole and untinged by hell, and perhaps more importantly, whilst Sam had been whole. Maybe it would have been a small victory in the long run, maybe it wouldn’t have changed things, but he’d been in this life long enough to know that small victories stack up.
Sam takes part in his first grave exhumation since he buried his own brother 7 months ago, only for it to unleash past and present trauma.
Set in early Season 04 with a Pre-series Flashback

Just white-noise.
There are thousands of voices in hell. And Alastair makes them talk to Dean.

Summary
Dean had completed his mission. Abaddon was dead. Sam supposed he had staggered off to bed. Well, to his room at least. They may not be cooped up in the same motel room together, but it didn't mean that Sam wasn't aware of the fact that his older brother wasn't sleeping...

Soon after their return, Sam discovers a disturbing scene featuring his brother and starts to realise the effect the Mark of Cain is beginning to have on its owner.
Set after s09e21 King of the Damned, slight cannon divergence.
