Like it was my fault that everything happened the way it did. Maybe if I’d done something differently— maybe if I’d gotten there earlier, or seen the signs of it— I could’ve fixed it.” His voice wobbled a bit on the last phrase; he leaned forward, let his head fall heavy between his legs. “Do you think I’m crazy?”
Aki Hayakawa has championed every challenge life's thrown at him so far. Acing every exam in nursing school? Check. Making sure his ragtag roommates, Denji and Power, don't blow the apartment up while he's at class? No sweat. Moving 6,000 miles away from home to forget about the unexplained deaths of his entire family? Please. Piece of cake.
Surviving a zombie apocalypse? Uh... not quite what he had in mind.
Teaming up with a weird (and oddly cute?) fellow survivor who calls himself Angel and insists that only the two of them have the power to save the planet once and for all? Well, he's going to need a miracle to make it through that one-- or a whole lotta guts, literally and figuratively.

The silence is broken by Denji abruptly saying, “You know, one good thing about Aki being a devil now? He can’t make any stupid contracts anymore.”
Angel freezes. He feels his blood run cold, feels the wave of despair rise up within him, and isn’t quick enough to keep it from bleeding out onto his expression. He tries looking down at the table in a desperate attempt at damage control, but he immediately knows that it’s too little, too late.
“Oh, fuck,” Denji breathes. “What did he do?”

A sudden serial killer in his church puts a pin in his very full schedule, however. An exorcist being sent to handle the situation doesn't help - especially when Angel is assigned as his guide.
