Summary
If the situation hadn't been so concerning, the psychiatrist would've laughed out loud... But not now. Will looked up at him, his eyes darting around nervously, as sweat stuck to his forehead. He wiped it away with his sleeve and seemed to try and find his words but was ultimately unable to. His eyebrows furrowed in confusion and he turned around, checking his surroundings... Before he came to a realization. With a frown, he turned back to the other man.
"... This isn't Hannibal Lecter's house... And you're not Hannibal..."
"Obviously not-... My god, what did you do?"
...
Or: On a particularly bad night, Will feverishly seeks Hannibal's help. Instead, he finds himself on Frederick Chilton's doorstep.

Summary
Will gabbed the towel and walked out after mumbling some words of gratitude. Hannibal didn't immediately run after him, which the younger man was grateful for. So, he returned to his spot on the floor, in front of the fireplace, watching the flames dance. The relentless turmoil in his mind didn't settle, though, and he almost hoped that the medication would make him drowsy enough to sleep... But that didn't happen. In the background, he could hear Hannibal cleaning the bathroom sink while the fire was crackling in the living room.
He scolded himself for not thinking before speaking.
...
Or: Due to his wounds, Hannibal insists on shaving Will's face for him. As a result, some thoughts Will would've rather kept to himself come to light.

Summary
Will sat in front of the fireplace, lost in thought as the flames danced. Hannibal walked up from behind him — silently. So Will spoke. Finally. After three days of silence and touches, uninterpreted...
"There is nothing. Is there?"
Hannibal's response was silence — at least for a moment. Then, a shuffle of fabric. Hannibal had sat down next to Will by the fire. Hannibal Lecter, the oh so composed and dignified man; a man capable of great violence, was sitting on the floor next to Will, looking small. But that was okay. They had seen the best of each other; they had seen the worst of each other. It hardly mattered. But it did. It was this gesture of little importance, yet great meaning, which coaxed a smile from Will.

Summary
Will Graham has been in a steady downward spiral since Chilton's hospital. When Hannibal is occupied for a few days, Will isolates himself in his home, taking comfort in self-destruction. He can't trust anyone. Especially not himself.
(Heavily inspired by the song "Die In The Summertime" by the Manic Street Preachers.)
