“W-who?” The ghost looked lost, still struggling against him. “Don’t know! Don’t know!” It kept whining, a hurt, broken sound that Xie Lian fought the urge to soothe and hush.

“Listen, Crimson Rain, I don’t have all day–”
“I just almost got admitted to a psych ward.”
Silence.
“And?” came He Xuan’s anxious voice from the speaker.
“I have to do outpatient therapy for three months,” Hua Cheng sighed. “I’m a fucking mess, man."
Hua Cheng, for the first time in his life, has decided to try therapy. Intensive Outpatient care at a DBT center, no less. He’d narrowly avoided hospitalization, not that he cared—it’s not like his life was worth living in the first place.
That’s what he’d thought for his twenty three years of life until the most beautiful man he'd ever seen had rushed into the therapy classroom apologizing profusely and taken the seat next to him.When Hua Cheng sees him for the first time, he takes in his eye bags, long sleeves he pulls down reflexively, and the nervous way he tucks his long brown hair behind his ears.
Hua Cheng has never seen anything more beautiful in his life.

Summary
Xie Lian has a secret.
It’s not that big of a secret, he thinks to himself—but already the uneasy roiling of his stomach gives him away. He waits until Hua Cheng is both busy and distracted—yes Hua Cheng is often busy, but he is not often distracted. There isn’t much these days that seems capable of pulling Hua Cheng’s attention away from Xie Lian for more than a few moments. That’s why Xie Lian is forced to wait, forced to bear his patience wearing thin and threadbare as time stretches on and the itch underneath his skin grows stronger.
Finally, Hua Cheng is gone, and Xie Lian is free. The thought makes him dizzy with anticipation. He gets up, fumbling, ties his robes tight around himself, and goes for a walk. He finds a clearing near a creek, and sits down with a sigh. He lets his hand trail in the water, watches the water weave through his fingers, and feels a lightness in his head at the knowledge of what he is about to do.
Then he pulls back his sleeve, draws his blade, and closes his eyes.

Summary
Kaveh is overworked, and Alhaitham feels the need to do something about it.
Late afternoon sunlight filtered in through the window, washing everything in shades of gold. He watched dust motes float through the air, dancing to a silent tune in the golden sun. Kaveh’s eyes flicked to Alhaitham’s, and his heart stopped.
Teal eyes flickered maddeningly, an array of colors kaleidoscoping through jewel-bright irises. Pools of emerald, washed in gold. They glittered like the fractals of gemstones when turned in the light.
Kaveh was enraptured.

Summary
Kaveh is in love, and it's getting harder and harder to hide from Alhaitham.
"But then again, he and Haitham “hated” each other, too. They couldn’t be in each other’s presence for more than a few minutes without an argument breaking out or mild bickering over something completely nonsensical. It was their normal, pretending that neither could stand the other, and Kaveh was suddenly looking for a way out of it.
His only relief was those hours he had alone, sprawled across his bed, hand slipping lower and lower on his body until he came with Alhaitham’s name spilling from his lips.
Love, as it turned out, had a way of demanding to be felt.
It should have been a normal day. Alhaitham was out, away dealing with more Akademiya nonsense, and Kaveh had the house to himself.

Chu Wanning clears his throat, and shakes his head. He should say something— instead, he stays silent as he looks down at his phone and punches in the hotel name again.
Happily, his phone tells him to try again when he has signal.
