Luciel’s head shakes slightly as if this will brush away her thoughts, hair falling dark and loose around her face, but it’s Morrigan’s voice - of course it is, she thinks, a little rueful - that brings her back. “Come,” says she, and Luciel would follow her anywhere, “the city beckons.”
Luciel has always wanted what she can’t have.

The toddler wears what looks to Caro like an extremely shapeless linen christening gown. There are little wooden buttons shaped like leaves down half the front. There's pale green embroidery like lace all through the chest, with piping. It was painstakingly made and looks like it came straight out of the 19th century.
There's a bonnet.
"She's not wearing shoes," is Nate's remark, because of course he can tell the baby is female and of course he picked right up on that little detail.
Unit Bravo acquires a changeling.
