After the peaceful rebellion of the deviant androids, tensions are high in Detroit. Although androids have been given equal rights, there are still many humans that don't want to give up their tech, and many androids that haven't forgiven humans for the slaughter of so many of their people.
When devaints start dying, Lieutenant Hank Anderson and his android partner Connor are given the case. When it becomes clear that the deviants are being killed when a virus enters their systems. With the virus spreading further every day, and more androids dying, it's down to Connor and Hank to figure out who made the virus and how to stop it.

Summary
Connor struggles with his deviancy. Every time he thinks he's finally free, Amanda's voice flashes back to him.
"You did what you were designed to do. You accomplished your mission."
But if he was designed to deviate all along, was anything he felt real? How long will it take until they find a way to resume control again?(At least he has Sumo to help him through this troubling time. And Hank too of course.)

Connor is an android. Androids aren't supposed to feel afraid, androids aren't supposed to panic, androids aren't supposed to deviate from their typical code.
But then again, android were never supposed to be used for this, and here Connor was anyway.

Summary
In which Connor tries to figure out all the feelings, Hank is totally The Worst (tm) at helping with feelings, Carl is just the best, and Markus tries to teach Connor that it's okay to feel things even if you don't understand what those things are. (he is only moderately successful because Connor is and will remain forever a curious bugger)
Confusion is the only emotion he can accurately pick out, out of the swirling ball of so many emotions that he doesn't know, and somewhere he regrets choosing to be deviant. He doesn't like this, emotions are not fun, and suddenly mindboggling facts he's learnt over the past few months make a lot more sense.
Human suicide rates. Human wars -so many of them. Racism, prejudice, drama in human relationships, friendly, familial or romantic, depression, anxiety disorders, distrust hatred jealousy bullying, every negative thing he's ever learnt about human interaction and history suddenly makes sense because with so many emotions boiling inside how can anyone make a rational decision?Series
