“You look awful,” Daiki said, his voice intentionally soft, yet tinged with concern that he failed to hide.
Atsushi only groaned into the comforter, a raspy, hoarse sound escaping his throat, his hand brushing against Daiki’s knee in a silent plea for comfort. A year or two ago, Daiki might have flinched and yelled at him, pushing him off and leaving Atsushi to soothe himself.
OR
Atsushi has a rough day at work, Daiki plays with his hair in an attempt for comfort.... it works, somehow.
