Summary
Cheng Xiaoshi had known him when his hair was black. Cheng Xiaoshi has never known him at a time when his hair was black. Time is funny, that way. The world itself seems to grate against Lu Guang’s hair colour- it’s pointed out frequently, like the universe simply cannot help itself. It’s easier to say he was born with it.
After Cheng Xiaoshi's death, Lu Guang dives back in time to save him. For Cheng Xiaoshi, he will do it as many times as it takes.

The tide lapped around them, as if lulling them deeper into its embrace. The sound of waves crashing swallowed any words that should have come out—and any thoughts Cheng Xiaoshi might've formed.
He found himself staring back.
He let his eyes linger over every feature. Over the water caught on the hollow of Lu Guang’s throat, before slipping away. Or the familiar eyes that stared right back at him. The ones that stayed constant despite all. After all the time that passed, Lu Guang changed, yet stayed, well, Lu Guang. No matter how different he claimed to be back then.
He felt the gentle tug of their link. The unspoken words ebb into each other's mind, quiet.
