“Besides,” Bofur adds, “all these rooms have been empty since Smaug an’ all, but, y’know, yours were empty for a good whiles before that.”
Bilbo’s brow furrows slightly. “Really? Why’s that?”
Bofur only shrugs. “Just happened tha’ way, I s’ppose. Thror married an older lass, and then she died a whiles before ‘im- and then, o’course, he wasn’t much of a mind to find another, considerin’... all those later times. So it’s been an extra, oh… seven’ty, eighty years?”
He looks to Balin, who nods in agreement. Bilbo finds that this answers none of his questions.

Summary
Thorin had been in a Hell of his own devising since his death on the fields of the Battle of the Five Armies. His kin and even Mahal himself had tried everything to bring him to the halls of bliss, but Thorin knew he did not deserve eternal peace.
Mahal tried another tactic. Thorin was not the only one who’d committed unforgivable crimes.

Summary
Kakashi looks at him expectantly and it’s only then that Iruka realizes he actually has to do something since Kakashi agreed to let him try this. He goes slowly, hoping that his deliberate movements come across as confidence and not what they actually are.
It's probably best for Kakashi to stay where he is on the couch, so Iruka goes around the back of it to stand behind him. Iruka starts to move his hands where he needs to. Hesitates. Tries again. Gets a little closer. Still can't.
“Can I … I need to, uhm — is it alright if I touch you?”
or, what started as iruka offering to try relieving the stress of the sharingan for kakashi leads to the two of them spending unprecedented amounts of time together. and now ...
well, iruka isn't quite sure what they are now.

The only person more unhappy about this than Kakashi is Iruka Umino.
