Possibly my favorite series of all time, in any fandom. I'll admit that nostalgia is at least a part of that, but even so, this is legitimately some of my favorite writing. Poetic, evocative, and so, so intense. Masterful characterization. And coming back to reread it a decade and a half after I first found it, it still holds up.
