Summary
No one answers back and she wonders if he’s still asleep or busy upstairs. She doesn’t hear anything coming from the kitchen. Laying down the bowl of Fine Beef Noodles she made, the builder makes her way up the stairs, calling out her boyfriend’s name. Vera climbs up and the noises become louder and louder the higher she goes.
“Owen?” She climbs up the stairs.
The higher she goes, the more Vera hears the sounds of grunting, heavy breathing, then something heavy and metal. Curiosity beckons her to move when she, at last, reaches the top of the stairs and sees Owen.
Her very much bare-chested boyfriend bench pressing heavy weights in his home gym.
