Last week my friend R (28f) fell into the river and washed up on the shores of the Water Kingdoms, where she was “rescued” by the Sea King (????m) (he’s “immortal and undying like the sea” whatever that means). He brought her to his ocean palace and gave her a lot of jewels and gifts and the crown of his kingdom. He wants them to be bonded mates, which is apparently a big deal—something about how one person will experience the other one’s pain? My friend has been sending me updates and she really likes him, but she called me about a half an hour ago because the Sea King said that she didn’t have a sealskin to give him as a sign of commitment so he was going to take her cane (she has EDS), cause, get this, she “wouldn’t need it cause she only had to sit on the throne and terrify the courtiers with her beauty”. I’m (27f) on the way to the river right now, but like, I have to tell him to kill himself, right? Like my dude is just asking for it. I literally gotta.

Summary
ART bot nodded slowly as I finished speaking. An amusement sigil flashed in its eyes.

The end of that statement had led to the creation of the second rule.
Rule #2 ART and Murderbot are not allowed to utilize ‘I statements’ during their sessions, (or preferably ever).
Oh well.
It had been fun while it lasted.
A SecUnit and a spaceship walk into couples therapy. Neither of them really want to be there but both of them are. Apparently that’s where you get sent after you have a big fight that scares the humans. Now it's just a matter of figuring out if they’d like to actually fix their problems and admit to having emotions, or if they’d like to make things worse.
Make things worse seems like the obvious choice…right?Series

Summary
When Murderbot gets (almost) fatally injured during a routine mission it has to deal with the emotional fallout from itself, all of its humans, one paranoid machine intelligence with enough power to make sure it never goes anywhere again, and the damage it does to one interpersonal relationship. Ugh, so many emotions.
