Idia makes eye contact from opposite sides of the platform, the space between them quickly filled by an incoming train. When the train leaves, predictably Malleus is gone. Of course it’s predictable: It happens every time he has this dream. Still, Idia runs. Despite the pain from puncture wounds—Malleus’ horns from years past—Idia runs after him. And, like always, as he gets to the other side… Malleus is gone, and Idia stands alone on the other side of the platform, and he feels shrouded in guilt.
