Summary
Mike Wheeler is a famous singer who, despite maintaining his fanbase and numbers for years, is rarely seen in public or live performing. Will Byers, who used to be part of the band Cleric and the Wise Ones, has recently launched his solo career, amassing a small, but solid fanbase.
Will hides a secret: he is head over heels for Mike, his muse, co-worker and friend. Mike hides two secrets: 1) he is also head over heels for Will, and 2) when he's not being a singer, he is Paladin, the beloved masked superhero who's constantly flying saving the world.
OR: Mike and Will are musicians, secretly in love with each other, and too scared to confess. Mike also happens to be a superhero who takes advantage of his masked identity to be around Will.

There it is, in the bottom left hand corner with that little heart indicating a like– Will’s profile picture.
And this– well, this is enough to capture Mike’s long-fried attention span once more.
When Will likes an Instagram Reel about being in a "gut-wrenching situationship", Mike becomes determined to find the guy responsible for breaking his best friend's heart. This is not an overreaction at all.
...OK, maybe just a little.

Summary
Will and Mike are insanely competitive. Incapable of losing or letting the other win, it comes up in quite literally every aspect of their lives – whether it be one-upping each other while playing games, or drinking with their friends, or even arguments, neither side is ever willing to give up until it gets too tiring to keep going.

Will thinks for a moment, biting his lip and picking at his fingernails, before looking at Mike with a mysterious glint in his eyes. There's a rosy tint to his cheeks, and Mike has to stop himself from leaning over and biting them.
“Do you want to play Mario Kart again tonight?”
Mike and Will play video games. Just for fun. Totally, totally not as an excuse to get naked.
