Summary
Atsushi hated pain. The Orphanage had subjected him to years and years of it, through hammers and knives and cold water and hot pokers and nights spent on his knees, scrubbing at the floors, blood blossoming on his palms. He hated it.
But in the early hours of the morning—shooting out of bed, wrapping his arms around himself, tight, as if they would protect him from the man in the corner that spewed poisonous words and harsh glares, cold and dissecting, memories clawing at him even now, threatening to destroy him—the first thing he did was grab at his hair and pull.

Summary
Atsushi is eleven, and he’s learned not to complain or cry by now, learned to keep his breathing down and his sobs muffled, his shaking and trembling to a minimum.

Summary
Atsushi hadn’t known a time when he hadn’t feared death, and as much as that fear clung to him, his fear of confinement was always worse. Anything was better than a cage, anything would be better than going back to being trapped with nowhere to go, no way of escape. He knows the Agency can’t help him here, he’s not even sure he wants them to. After all, everyone saw him differently after they saw him in the cage. Little did he know, there would be someone else who would come to his aid

Summary
Scanning the rest of the room, he turns to look at Sigma, whose shuddering breaths wrack his body even as he’s unconscious against the control panel, blood trailing down his side through the fabric. His hair is cast over his face, drooped across him in a pastel glory.
Coming to his side, Nikolai uses a blood covered hand to tilt Sigma’s face upwards, watching how his brows are pulled together in strain. He’s already a pale figure, but the blood loss makes him appear otherworldly, the red of Fedya’s blood streaked across his jaw standing out starkly.
Evaluating the damage on the other man, a new game begins to form in Nikolai’s head.

Summary
Pain, hunger, dizziness, loneliness.
Those were his constant companions, staying with him day and night.
Pain from the constant injuries, hunger from the lack of food, dizziness from the lack of sleep and over-use of his ability and loneliness from the solitary cell. The only words spoken to him were either orders, or rageful fits over his incompetence and failures.
He was less and less sure how long he'd be able to keep going like this.
