And then Amy will then be disappointed and sad, *again.* And it will all have been Tails' fault, because he didn't trust in his own piloting or engineering skills, because he didn't check the weather projections when he charted this flight route across the ocean.Tails wasn't going to let a stupid storm scare him away like he's a little kit. He's better than that now!
And Tails certainly wasn't going to let Sonic and Amy's new relationship fall apart. Sure, they weren't officially dating dating but they very well could be after this Valentine's Day and he was going to be totally happy for them as Amy and Sonic were his best friends and he couldn't let them both down! He can't! Not like-

A light-hearted Sontails fanfic. Takes place in an alternate universe shortly after the Chaos Incident on Easter Island.
Ambiguously an adaptation of Adventure Era to 'Classic Sonic' with Adventure being a 'Sonic 4'.
Sonic 4 Episode 1 & 2, Mania, Superstars, etc are assumed not to have happened.
Minimal spoilers for the following games: Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic CD, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Sonic & Knuckles, Sonic Adventure.
Which have only happened in that order.
Tails is 14, Sonic is 16.
This story has been deemed appropriate for those aged 13-years-old and older.

Sonic struggles to understand his feelings for Tails. Perhaps the little fox feels the same way about him. Neither of them seems to understand their feelings, leading to conflict in their little family.

Summary
Over time, Tails had begun to feel... a little weird around Sonic.
It was slow, gradual. There'd occasionally be a strange little tingle in his heart when Sonic did certain things.
He didn't think much of it... until one day, he had to carry Sonic.
It was their typical thing. Tails flies, Sonic grabs onto his hands and Tails lifts him to where they need to go.
But, for some reason, when their hands latched together that time... Tails' heart skipped a beat.
