“Erik keeps showing up, but he keeps leaving,” Wille said, feeling suddenly like he wanted to cry.
"Where are you? The Palace?"
“The Palace,” Wille said, shoving himself up from the floor. He stumbled as the room spun, then regained his balance. “Fucking—Drottningholm Palace and the—the fucking Evergreens.”

"What?" Wilhelm replies, barely looking up from where he's been doodling King Simon of Sweden all over his worksheet. "Yeah I didn't get to that yet. I did ask the Minister for Education if he could see to improving the cafeteria food after yesterday's Council of State meeting though, does that count as well?"

Summary
“I’m sorry, I-I didn’t mean to freak out.” Wille apologized, his body still unsteady after his panic attack.
Simon’s arms circled the other boy’s waist, pulling him closer, “You don’t have to apologize, I just- did I do something? Was it something I said or?”
“It um- it was the author, talking about her and what she did.”
“How she killed herself?”
“Yeah.”
A dark heavy feeling made itself a home in Simon’s chest, he hummed and pulled Wille impossibly closer to his side. He thought he knew where this story is about to go and he really really wanted to be wrong.

After their reunion in Wille's room. Wille opens up to Simon about his suicide attempt a few weeks prior.

Simon’s words are hardly louder than a whisper, “I’m not going to leave you. Trust me, that’s the last thing I want to do. I love you.”
Wilhelm presses his lips together and starts blinking rapidly, as if trying to get rid of tears. But he doesn’t reply.
Horror fills Simon’s chest and the pieces fall together; Wille was hiding his struggles because he doesn't trust that Simon will stay with him through them.
He can barely keep his voice from breaking, “You don't... Why don’t you trust me?”
Wille lets out a long shaky breath, “It wasn’t enough when I did.”Or

Summary
He looked around at the emptiness of the tree house. His wonder about what he would find inside was now replaced by curiosity about what, exactly, his neighbors and their friends did here. His question was partially answered when he caught sight of the black and white keyboard piano leaning against the back corner.
He reached out to touch it.
“Holy crap—”
Wille whirled around, eyes widening.
It was the curly haired boy, standing in the tree house.
He stumbled, his foot slipping on the open edge behind him. Wille shot out his hand and caught the other boy’s flailing wrist, tugging him forward, hard, before he could fall.
They stood, suspended there, hearts pounding, brown eyes meeting brown eyes for the first time.

“And then you said, ‘uh, I’m Wille,'” Simon says. “Like I didn’t almost fall to my death!”
“I was just trying to be polite!” Wille says. Simon throws his head back and laughs, and Wille laughs, too.

Wille has always been getting angry at the most mundane sounds. The chewing of his father during dinner, the way his older brother breath while he falls asleep or just the rhythmic noise of one student in his class clicking the pen from boredom. With time he got better at controlling it, hiding it in plain sight, but sometimes he can't bear it anymore.

Wille has misophonia. He is spending time with Simon and his friends for the first time after he made the speech. Things go wrong after everything gets too loud.

The new warmth of the spring sun felt like heaven on Wille’s cheeks. He closed his eyes and basked in it for a moment, feeling the warm breeze on his skin. A deep inhale let the smell of the blooming flowers permeate him. The ground beneath his feet was soft as he walked down the trail to the lake. The light played against his eyelids as he smiled.A shoulder bumped into his playfully and he almost stumbled, but a hand reached out and caught his arm. “You’re gonna trip walking with your eyes closed like that,” Simon teased him. Wille could hear the happiness in his voice. He opened his eyes to find a smile sitting proudly on Simon’s face. It warmed him more than the sun ever could.

When Wille is thinking, he is overthinking. Currently, he's thinking a lot about the fact that he said the words "I'm a giant fucking homophobe", didn't give enough context, and now, apparently, Simon is gay? Yeah, it's a lot. So of course overthinking leads to panic. But at least he can call Erik to gently make fun of him until he can breathe again.

Companion piece to Study of a Prince in Pink, but this time from Wille's POV. Lots of angst, because duh, but very little of it is actually justified. But also heaps of big brothering and stuttering through big conversations.
