“Oh, that’s right I remember, six years ago, I got you to admit that you liked somebody. Do you… like someone now?” Kaveh asked cautiously.
“Yeah,” Alhaitham answered nonchalantly.
“Who?”
“The same one as last time.”
“You still like them? After six years?” Kaveh’s eyes widened in shock.
“I’ve only ever loved one person, and I’ve only ever wanted to be with one person,” Alhaitham shrugged, beginning to walk away but Kaveh grabbed his wrist, holding him in place.
“But, six years? For that long, do they not know you exist or something?”
“They know.”
“Have you tried courting them at all?”
“Sorta. It didn’t work out.”
“Then…do they just not like you back?” Kaveh asked.
“I’ve only ever wanted them. If they don’t want me then, I’ll accept it but I don’t think I’ll ever stop loving them.”
“That’s… the most romantic thing I’ve ever heard in my entire life,” Kaveh confessed.
In which Alhaitham meets Kaveh and spends the next 6 years pining for him.

Kaeya rolled over to face him. “Don’t be so dramatic Diluc, is it so bad to want to date someone?”
“It’s bad to want to date someone with the intention of dumping them as soon as you get bored with
them.” He eyed Kaeya over the top of his glass. “And you get bored very easily.”“You’re making a lot of assumptions here.”
“That’s the way things have been going for a while.”
Kaeya knew Diluc didn’t like his dating history. He was always nagging at him about it, calling him
“promiscuous” and a “heartbreaker”.“Maybe this time it’ll be different,” he said, in an attempt to pacify him.
Diluc scoffed into his glass. “I hope it is. Maybe he’ll put you in your place.”
Kaeya laughed at this. What was that supposed to mean? He knew everyone loved him. He'd have the boy wrapped around his finger in no time.

Summary
When a person is born, their fate is woven with another's by the Ley Lines themselves. These two are bound to collide; their feelings always blossoming into fruitful devotion, love.
Yet, the ley lines are not perfect for all, for there was a boy who didn’t love his soulmate, and a boy who was never meant to have one.
Perhaps, soulmates are meant to be made, not found.
