Summary
There, thought Arthur proudly. He had conquered the stupid curse, and he wasn’t going to say one more single thing until he was locked and bolted in his chambers.
Merlin levelled him with a look, which obviously meant Arthur had said all this out-loud.

Summary
Tonight, Eddie’s ready to relax, barefoot and hair curled over his forehead, crossing his legs on the floor and reaching for the first box the delivery guy delivered fifteen minutes ago on the dot, so it wasn’t too hot and wasn’t too cool.
Tonight Richie’s hands are clenched hard and white and unforgiving around his fork where he’s picking at the food he’s ordered every single Thursday for three years and pretending not to stare.
Tonight there are egg rolls cooling on the big, clunky wooden coffee table and some QVC show on wedding dresses Richie flipped to after Cool Runnings ended playing on the television when Eddie flinches his left arm and says:
“Myra wants one of those things.”

Furrowing his brow, Eddie stretches his hands in front of him, staring at his ring. “There are plenty of people who actually love me. Who care about me. For real.” Eddie turns toward the pews, and only once Richie does too, does he realize what Eddie’s looking at.
Their friends.
All of them are watching, eyes shining with pride, mouths smirking with knowledge of the truth, for once, and waiting in the wings to help. They stand in a solid line of protection, and Richie feels a surge of affection so strong his knees almost buckle.
A hand grabs his, and when he turns, he sees it’s Eddie’s. “Let’s go.”

Summary
"But Richie, who would you marry? In real life?" Bill asks, squinting in the sun. Richie's eyes are half-closed, his glasses are up in his hair. Like Bill, he's still in just his swim trunks, drying by the lake, all relaxed like he owns the place.

Richie and Eddie have a conversation. It takes them 20 years to finish it.

"Yeah, I think it'd be nice to be with someone who was like a friend, a best friend that’s hot," Bev says. There are adoring looks from Ben and Bill. Lame. But Eddie gets it, if he had to pick someone to marry, he'd have to choose Bev too because she's the best friend who's also a girl he's got – really the only one he's got. It would be nice, probably. The idea calms him.
"Okay jeez, if you guys wanna be all fucking serious about it." Richie ponders and pouts, hums, crosses his leg over his knee, wagging his foot up and down, then stops. "I would marry someone who's really funny. The funniest person I met I would marry on the spot. Laugh every day, all the time. Would be rad."
-
"Ma?"
"Mhmm?" The answering hum is just barely loud enough to rise above the monotone sound of the TV.
He pauses to look into his own brown eyes, considering. The obsessive thought is still stuck in his head, and he forces the corners of his mouth up into a smile without feeling it. It makes him look more mean than happy. His eyes seem dull. He raises his voice to ask, "Do you think I'm funny?"

Summary
At the breakfast table, Jack enthuses about the special limited edition Christmas version of that cookie cereal he always eats—which, as far as Dean can tell, is the exact same as the regular version, only with red and green sprinkles substituting the usual brown specks that represent chocolate chips, and it costs a few cents extra.
Jack’s head pops up as he looks Dean right in the eye and says, blithely, mouth full of cereal, “It’s Christmas Eve.”
Dean frowns. “No it ain’t.”
Sam shoots Dean a look of pure pity. “Yeah, Dean, it is.”
Cas just squints.

Cue a closeup of Garfield, who says, closing out the episode:
“Alright, you guys, just permit me one sentimental moment here. I have something to say: Christmas. It's not the giving, it's not the getting, it's the loving. There, I said it. Now get outta here.”
Actually watching the screen for a moment instead of watching Cas, Dean is startled when he hears a sudden sharp sound right next to him: Cas giving an actual, short laugh.
“What?” Dean wonders, bemused, eyebrows lifting. “That was probably the least funny part of that show, but okay.”
The laugh has left the ghost of a smile on Cas’ face. “That’s not it.” Still looking at the TV, Cas shakes his head like he knew Dean wouldn’t get it.
Dean frowns, trying not to sound too put out. “Fine, then enlighten me, what are you laughing about, Chuckles?”
Cas pauses, just for the brief second he glances over at Dean, before turning his gaze back to the screen. He seems to be visibly struggling not to smile even more, which, frankly, is kind of blowing Dean’s mind right now.
And Cas finally says, “That’s you.”
