This is a bit AU but maintains elements of Vic's character and Clay's attitude towards him. Deviates from the show's sequence of events, and paints Vic without any redeeming qualities.
A multi-chapter emotional and physical whump-fest coming up. I tried to write a one chapter story, but my evil muse latched on to a concept, and it's snowballing into several chapters.

Summary
Clay has only been with Bravo a short while when they are spun up for a protection mission. An RPG attack separates Clay and a repulsive protectee from the rest of Bravo team in an area filled with rebels bent on killing them. Can Clay keep himself and the woman alive until Bravo can find and rescue them ... or will her actions cost Clay his life?

“To all in the jumper bay, we’ll be testing the cloak and shield in combination on jumper five for the next hour, please give ten metres clearance or risk breaking your nose on an invisible wall.” Rodney said over the comms.
John tensed with anticipation because he knew what was going to happen next. They’d negotiated this scene intricately but left the time open to Rodney’s whim.
“John? Follow me,” Rodney said, in a low, calm tone that went through John’s body in delicious ways.
They stepped out of the back ramp and went to the front of the jumper. The bay was heaving with marines unloading the latest shipment of tava beans. Terrifying. Perfect.
“On your knees,” Rodney ordered.
