Summary
When Eddie Diaz dies from the sniper attack, Evan Buckley becomes Chris's parent, and he has to figure out how to make that work. Years later, he thinks he's got a hang of it, when Tommy Kinard steps into his life, and changes the routine and sense of self. Maybe that's a good thing. Maybe it's just what he needs.

Summary
He was washing dishes and Milton was drying when it happened- Tommy started choking.
“Hey, Tommy! What’s going on?” Milton asked, but Tommy wasn’t sure he could respond. Then he felt someone cutting into his throat.
“Soulmate,” Tommy said. He could still feel the pain, but it wasn’t as pronounced anymore, “It’s normally broken bones or something like that- he’s a trouble magnet it seems. This time it was an emergency tracheotomy.”OR:
In a world where soulmates can feel each other's pain, Tommy could feel everything that happened to Evan Buckley.

Summary
So maybe Hen meddled a little, but Buckley was never going to figure his shit out on his own. And letting their macho, womanizing coworker have a queer experience that blew his little mind, with their former coworker no less, was better than any birthday present she could have asked for.
So if she noticed them kissing while they danced, or if she watched Tommy take Buck’s hand and pull him off the dance floor towards the bathrooms, she definitely didn’t say anything to anyone else.

OR Buck 1.0 meets newly out Tommy at a queer club. And then they reconnect several years later. Inspired by prompts on twitter/tumblr. Title from a Delta Rae song of the same name.Bookmarked by trisorgana
