“You need to,” he tells Teru again, in his tiny yellow kitchen. “Please help me. Please just, just do whatever you did to break your side of the curse. Break mine too. And then we can never talk about any of this again. Please,” Ritsu forces out again, when Teru says nothing, only listens, watching him with that same mild, sociable interest. “Before it gets worse. Before anything… happens.”
“What’s in it for me?” asks Teru.

That shouldn’t have been able to happen.” In a single slick move Mezato produces a tiny voice recorder from an inside pocket, flips it open and active, and holds it up before Mob’s mouth to ask him, in a tone of devastating intensity: “Do you know anything about… a miracle, Mob-kun?”
Mob doesn’t hesitate. “We had maths homework to hand in,” he says. “But now we don’t have to. We don’t even have to go to the lesson.”
(The sun is shining, the birds are singing, Salt Middle School has been closed by an unexplained miracle, and the only thing wrong in Spice City is the fact that nothing is even slightly wrong at all.)

Summary
After dozens and dozens of attempts to kill Sans, the human does the unthinkable: they give up.
Without being graced with a Reset in a nearly-devastated Underground, Flowey tries to cope with nearly being murdered by the last shred of hope he had left, Sans tries to find reason to continue going without prospect of seeing his brother again, and Asgore is tasked with trying to do the right thing for the few monster survivors without having to absorb the human SOULs. All the while, several overlooked monsters who evacuated in time find reason to hope again.
