Because naming it would have meant needing to change something. And Mike didn’t want things to change. Not with Will.
If he left it alone, maybe it would stay manageable.
That should’ve been the end of it.
But no matter how hard Mike tried to bury it, the feeling didn’t go away. He had to adapt. Make himself smaller. Tried not to make it so obvious how in love he was with his best friend, except he could barely even admit that to himself.
