Summary
Mike Wheeler is a journalism student with a part-time job at the Daily Bugle and a growing obsession with New York’s newest hero: Spider-Man.
Will Byers is just trying to get through college, pay rent, and also happens to be the one swinging across the skyline at night.
They meet at a party. They become friends. It would be simpler for everyone involved if it stayed that way.
But Mike keeps searching for Spider-Man, and Will keeps hiding in plain sight - caught somewhere between wanting to be seen and being terrified of what happens if he is.And when something in the city starts to break, something strong enough to tear it apart, Will has to wonder if being Spider-Man is going to cost him everything.
Or: two idiots, one secret identity, and absolutely no communication skills.

Summary
"You can get just about anything with a pretty face like this," he turned his head and stroked his jaw then gave him a once over, "I'm sure you can relate."
Will opened his mouth to reply but was interrupted. "Will!" Mike called from across the clearing. His brows were furrowed and he looked at him expectantly.
Richie gave him a knowing look. "Go on, be a good boy. Sit." He taunted.
Will took another swig of his drink and instead of taking his former seat he plopped down on Richie's log. Richie didn't hide his amusement. "Yeah, I like this better."

Mike knew two things for certain. One; he had to make it out of this summer alive. Two; he was going to have to lie.
~~~~
The party spends the summer after graduation at summer camp. A mystery. Hidden treasure. A discovery. A strange boy from Maine. Will thought he had all the answers inside of him. It turns out that was only a piece of the puzzle.
Summary
His other eye held a sense of familiarity to Mike. The color a soft green. He looked at his nose, at his mouth, at the mole over it.
Wait.
...What?
He looked back up into his eyes. The same eyes he had looked into on their last day together.
His stomach dropped. He was going to be sick.
He traced his face yet again as his mind simultaneously remembered every picture of Will.
Pictures Mike had been studying meticulously ever since he died.
That’s right, Will died.
Will is dead.
He's supposed to be dead.
He kept repeating the sentiment in his head, but it didn't matter. All the details matched. Sure, his features had become older, but it was still him. It was still-
"...Will?" Mike whispered, terrified the sound of his voice would somehow make him disappear, make this not real. Instead, it appeared as if Mike speaking awoke something in Will as Will’s emotionless eyes suddenly shot up along with the shotgun flying back up into his hands, shooting right past Mikes head, straight through the tree he was still leaned against.
Summary
“DON’T WORRY ABOUT MY GIRLFRIEND!” He was on his feet in seconds flat, his large frame casting a shadow over Edie. “WORRY ABOUT MY FIST IN YOUR FACE!” The stupid fucking recliner rocked back with the force of her body as she pushed herself into it, removing her ability to move, making herself an even easier target for the man standing over her, his arm raised, ready to strike. Instead, she shut her eyes tightly, waiting for the inevitable impact of his fist on her face. But it never came.
Stephanie Covington and Edie Lanter's lives couldn't be more different. But when Stephanie's boyfriend dies under mysterious circumstances, they are forced to find common ground and rely on each other in order to clear Edie's name.
(Or, it's May 2016 and the tv series Eddie Munson created to process his survivor's guilt just premiered on Netflix. It was meant to be a tribute to Vecna's victims but really, it was always going to be a love letter to Steve Harrington.)
This is Part 3 of Eddie Munson's Definitive List of (Queer) Films Steve Harrington Needs to Watch Before He Dies but can be read as a stand-alone story.
