It had never mattered what Chan did, how much effort he put in for them; he could do whatever they told him to, and they'd still look at him like he was trash. And wasn't he? He had always tried so hard to make people happy, but he could never seem to please his alphas. How pathetic was that?

And that’s just it, isn’t it. Chan is too good, too sweet to ever hold something like a confession of love over Hyunjin's head. He knows that Chan's been so distant to not give Hyunjin the wrong idea, but Hyunjin can't handle it. Can't handle watching Chan talk and laugh with other members of the crew when he can't have it.
Love is precious to Hyunjin. He craves it, wants it so bad. But it also makes him selfish. He wants and wants and wants. And Chan knows him well enough to know that Hyunjin is selfish. It's why everyone leaves, why everyone gets tired of him. He had thought Chan could be different, but Hyunjin knows. He knows that he's made for giving love, but never receiving the love he wants—needs.
