Summary
Spring of '03, in their final few months of high school, best friends Taehyun and Kai begin something akin to a relationship, which follows them both all the way to university in New York City. As time goes on, however, Taehyun and Kai find themselves running in completely different circles, but nevertheless always come back to each other. That is until even their friendship is no longer salvageable and the two sever ties in the most painful way possible.
After eight years, amidst an unforeseen funeral, Taehyun and Kai reconnect, for better or for worse. The only question being if they can right all the wrongs between them or if their transformative love story will remain stuck in the past.

Beside Soobin had been this thin, lanky kid. His scent was the unmistakable one of someone who had yet to even present. It’s something akin to fresh linen. It made immediate sense why Soobin was his friend, a lot of Omegas tend to dote on people who have yet to present. Even more so, by looking at him, Taehyun thought Soobin’s friend had Beta drip from his aura.
He introduces himself. “Hi- Hey, I’m Kai. Huening Kai.”
“Hi, Huening Kai,” responded Taehyun, amused. The word cute pulsing in his head with a throb. “I’m Kang Taehyun.”

Summary
There was this thing that happened, every now and then. On occasion, the constant, ever-evolving whirring in Taehyun’s brain would come to a halt, and his thoughts dissipated into nothingness. A factory reset, of a sort. It left him unable to do anything except freeze in place, and tended to happen only in moments of true panic, which were very rare for him.
That was the state he found himself in now, unmoving, unblinking, unable to think or react beyond the widening of his eyes.
Kai continued watching him carefully. “It’s not risky if it’s you.”

He should’ve given in and granted himself one small moment of happiness. Did he go home with someone else? If he turned around right now and made it to the bar in time, would he be able to take Kai away from whoever it was, or… would he be allowed to follow them home and watch?
