Riku has always loved Sora.
It isn’t subtle. It never has been.
It’s in the way Riku stands half a step ahead of him in unfamiliar places, shoulders squared like he’s daring the world to try something. In the way he watches him laugh, like he’s memorizing the sound for later. In the way his voice changes, softens, sharpens, steadies, depending on what Sora needs. Anyone with two eyes and half a brain could piece it together.
Anyone, apparently, except Sora.

Summary
After the death of his mother as a child, Sora moved with his father to a small village in the countryside. Unable to fit in much, he grows up consumed in fantasy and literature. At 18, he finds himself feeling lonesome amongst the crowd, not really fitting in, but not wanting to move again. He's safe, he's happy, he's content. That is, until he catches the eye of a newcoming traveler with quite the fanbase. But being forced into a marriage he does not want ends with him running away from everything and everyone he knows and landing right at the gates of an eerie castle.
