Summary
Atsushi Nakajima grew up with a fascination for the ocean, always dreaming of creatures hidden beneath dark waves, both real and imaginary. It was inevitable that he’d become a marine biologist.
His life takes a turn when a job opportunity introduces him to Akutagawa, a broody and hostile merman. Despite a rocky start, a friendship blossoms with the promise of more. As Atsushi makes progress studying Akutagawa, he becomes conflicted about the merman’s captivity.
Something sinister lurks beneath the surface of the science lab and it may not be the one they call ‘devil fish’.

“And I hope you know that you’re paying for that," Atsushi added bitterly.
“I said I would, didn’t I, darling?” If it was a joke, then Atsushi didn’t catch the punchline. His mouth went dry, and his heartbeat sped up. He was learning more and more about Akutagawa by the day; more and more things that would make fighting him impossible.
He now knew how Akutagawa felt breathing steadily in his arms, and what he looked like while he slept, and what his laundry detergent smelled like, and what his skin felt like, and what his voice sounded like when the sardonic edge was taken off of it.
They didn’t feel like enemies, anymore—not really.
OR
Akutagawa shows up bloodied and beaten to the apartment of his sworn enemy, and things just aren't the same after.

Summary
If it were up to him, he would have just called off the fight, but he couldn’t stop hearing the words. "Until then, I can’t move on." It would have to be Akutagawa who stopped it, and evidently he had no second thoughts the way Atsushi did.
Which was fine.After six months, Atsushi and Akutagawa prepare to face off for their fight. But things have changed between them-and it ends up being more complicated, and less violent, than they expect.

Summary
Atsushi could feel Akutagawa’s eyes on him. It was a strange feeling. He used to be terrified of that gaze, but now he liked it when Akutagawa looked at him. He had a way of giving his full undivided attention around Atsushi that made him feel fuzzy inside.
Akutagawa’s soft voice broke the peaceful quiet.
“They look like sunlight.”
Atsushi looked at him. “What?”
Inky eyes blinked at him. Akutagawa’s mouth was parted slightly, and his ears were a shade of red. He looked like he hadn’t meant to speak.
“Your eyes,” he said slowly, “They remind me of the sun.”

Summary
Of course. This smells distinctly of Dazai’s meddling. Only he would utilize an obscure and over-the-top method like this. Something about ‘walking a mile in the enemies’ shoes and being irritatingly literal about it.
No matter. If it’s a challenge from Dazai, then he will pass with flying colors. He will show his former mentor that it takes much more than switching his consciousness into the body of his worst enemy to faze him. Not only will he survive as the weretiger – he will thrive.
