Summary
“You were locked in. No choice but to go forward. They had decided to hear you out even after you became some kind of Wish Craft-powered half-Sadness or whatever blinding happened when you were fueled by nothing but despair and desperation. Surely they would stick around after hearing you were a different kind of monster…?”
---
After the loops, Siffrin confides in his party another secret they have been keeping.
Their new boyfriend is extremely normal about this.
Or, Isabeau has been reading too many of Mirabelle’s books and is too self-aware to ignore how he reacts when Siffrin gets a little scary. Siffrin is still repressing the bloodthirsty parts of himself out of fear, while craving something new. Isabeau getting hunted down by them scratches an itch for both.

Summary
Trapped in a time loop and without any safe options for satiating the hunger they feel, Siffrin is in a downward spiral. The only place he can seem to get a break from the tempting heartbeats of his party is the Favor Tree. Loop isn’t human, and their lack of a heart or blood to speak of makes them a respite alongside being the only one who remembers the loops. But as Siffrin’s senses grow stronger and their hunger becomes starvation, they start to hear a faint beat in Loop’s chest.
A beat that draws fangs to the night sky and shards to a black hole.

I really love the "you were there all along, but still you return home" poem describes this perfectly

Summary
You're jealous. You're jealous of your own blinding Sadness. It waltzed right into your camp like it isn't something awful made of everything wrong with you and– and it, wretched inhuman thing that it is, has the guts that you never did. And it's spilling them all over.
Everyone but the kid seems casually horrified. Whether that's because it's you or because it's a Sadness, you'll never bring yourself to ask.
(Mal du Pays appears pre-canon! Yay!)
