Happiness, for Cas, is overwhelming when it happens. Like it always comes as a surprise. Like he doesn't expect the sudden swell of liquid warmth, the choke in his throat and the gummy, aching feeling consuming every inch of him. A knee-jerk, hold-his-breath-moment before he remembers that he's allowed to let the feeling burst in sparks down to his fingertips and toes, across the ridges of his ribs and down the knobs of his spine, popping warm and wet in his stomach like an over-filled water balloon.
He forgets, sometimes, that he's allowed to feel... content. At rest.

Summary
This is a novel indulgence for Dean – waking up at his own leisure, cozy under clean sheets, molded into a cushy, overpriced mattress, not wearing a single stitch of clothing. It’s an almost illicit impracticality, not “the hunter way” by a long shot. The weapons tacked to his bedroom walls are primarily for show, not much use for a spontaneous monster fight.
He is so completely unprepared to spring out of bed at a moment’s notice, not that he’s particularly inclined to move under any circumstances, life-threatening or otherwise – not when he’s got Cas half-snoring beneath him, just as gloriously naked as Dean is.

It’s partly to silence his own thoughts, and partly to explain his shell-shocked reaction that Dean says, “I didn’t even think that angels could feel stuff like that.”
Cas’s face goes blank. Neither Dean nor Cas say anything or look at the other for a long moment.
“To be fair, I don’t think angels are supposed to,” Cas finally says, voice rougher than it had been, and somehow distant. “Even as a human, I’ve never had a soul.” There’s a glassy look in Cas’ eye as he stares past a spot on the wall, and his voice dips quiet. “What should it feel like? To be in love?”

Dean didn't think that angels could feel love. He's very wrong about that. But he's also determined to make up for his mistake.

After Metatron steals Castiel's grace, and Cas comes to live in the bunker, Dean spends a lot of time with him, sharing all of his favourite things. Dean can't help it if sharing things with Cas just makes everything better. Besides, it's Dean's job as Cas' friend to introduce him to the joys of human life. To teach him how to be human.
And if one of the experiences they end up sharing is sex with women, well... that's just part of Dean's job as Cas' friend too, right?

Castiel doesn’t mind working security duty; he was briefed shortly after the initial salvation of the Sword from the pit, and again before taking up his position. He knows what to do. However, it’s easy to forget that the green room isn’t real.
