If you were to have asked Shane how he thought this night would play out, no answer would’ve come close to reality. Having a rare night off, the Centaurs decided to go for a night out. Nothing crazy, just a few casual drinks at a local bar, enjoy each other’s company. Let loose a little.
Shane, despite letting go of his ridiculously strict diet, was still not one to drink during the season. Of course he would go out with his team, socialize. It’s the polite thing to do. That didn't mean he was planning on drinking, though. Definitely not.

Summary
At sixteen, Shane and Ilya's daughter was easily mistaken to be biologically related to Shane. In fact, Ilya wasn't fully convinced Shane didn’t have a secret daughter he mastermind-orchestrated into adopting. She had those same wide, ever-expressive brown eyes Ilya could never say no to and shared that silky black hair he knew all too well.
So yeah, on the surface, she very much looked to be Shane’s daughter. But underneath all that, there was not a doubt in the world she was Ilya’s too. Maybe a bit too much.
Or, Shane and Ilya's daughter comes to them with some mental health struggles

“Question one,” Ilya interrupts, peering at Shane from the corner of his eye before glancing back at his phone. He looks suspiciously smug. Shane is instantly wary. “Is there any chance you are pregnant?”
Shane rolls his eyes, smacking Ilya’s thigh with the back of his hand. “Oh, fuck off.”
Ilya snickers before making a poor attempt at schooling his face back into neutrality. He gestures with his phone. “This is yes or no question, Hollander.”
“No, Ilya, there is no chance I’m pregnant, seeing as you fuck me in the ass, and also, I’m your gay male husband.”
“Hm. Okay, so despite my best efforts, not pregnant yet, probably, although we cannot be sure.”

It sounded like Ilya took in a deep breath before he said, “You had an accident. Hit your head. Got another concussion.”

At the cottage with Ilya, Shane has an accident that means he can’t play in the upcoming season. While staying at Ilya’s house in Boston, he has to figure out who the fuck he is without the game, and navigate the unexpected emotions he feels as Ilya continues thriving. Plus, the strain of keeping their relationship secret while living together only adds to the pressure.
