Connor isn’t a deviant. He is a machine, designed to accomplish a task. As a prototype, he has been given an unprecedented amount of flexibility in order to adapt to whatever his mission requires. Right now, what it requires is for him to make Hank happier and more comfortable being his partner, and he can’t do that if he doesn’t understand him.
