Harlequin senses it as soon as he crosses the threshold of Doctor's tent: he is watching him.
His dolls' eyes glow in the dark, trembling as if expressing some kind of overly excited expectation towards him, and this makes Harlequin snicker.
«Doctor, where are you?» He takes another step, feeling his fingers tremble with the urge to take off his cloak. «I'm here, aren't you coming to welcome me?»
It's cold, a little too cold, in that tent.
The automatic lights turn on above him, focused on the small stage where Doctor normally welcomes his patients and performs his horror show. Harlequin didn't remember it being so small, cramped, and claustrophobic.
But his grin widens when he smells that familiar medicinal scent, the disinfectant Doctor always uses to clean his hands. It's a whisper that caresses his neck, making him shiver.
