Summary
For all the anonymity that Forks provides, the townsfolk aren't quite as unaware as the Cullens like to think they are. After all, when wealthy strangers show up out of nowhere and refuse to mingle, people are going to talk - and when they do, chances are they'll stumble across the truth.
Of course, as with all idyllic small towns, Forks firmly abides by the universal policy of 'hear no evil, see no evil'. With the Quileute wolves down the road and a coven of witches in charge of nearly everything from private contracts to gourmet cake cafés, introverted, socially awkward vampires attending the local high school while their 'dad' is busy prescribing Viagra doesn't exactly give them much of a reason to look twice.
(Or, the one where the Cullens continue to think they're slick, the citizens of Forks think it's funny enough to keep playing along, and a couple people decide to try and befriend the resident immortals.)
