This time, when she smiles, it’s a deliberate show. A demonstration of the glinting, elegantly pointed fang.
“Our,” Jason says again. “Our, as in—as in—”
Talia delicately steps over the still-bleeding bodies on the floor. She crouches down next to Jason, pulls back his upper lip with something that almost passes for gentleness. Jason lets her. He doesn’t know if he has a choice.
“You’re coming along even better than expected,” she mutters. She taps a finger against the end of Jason’s canine. “Yes. You’ll do very well indeed.”
Jason jerks his head away, feels the inside of his own mouth. Talia watches it all impassively, still crouched amongst the gore. His hand scrapes along the sharpened point. Jason pulls it away reflexively, even though it doesn’t hurt, even though he’s not sure anything can hurt anymore.
“What the hell did you do to me?” He manages.
“Jason,” Talia says, level and patient. “I saved you.”

In order to bring him back, Talia turns Jason into a vampire. This changes surprisingly little.

The Doctor sighed, wistfully remembering that very first trip out with Rose. She’d been flabbergasted at the mere concept of universal roaming, and the Doctor couldn’t help but smile as he recalled the delighted wonder in her tone. She could comprehend the sentient, telepathic time-and-space ship, but somehow the concept of advanced technical jiggery pokery baffled her--as if there were anywhere in the world he couldn’t get a silly little signal to.
Perhaps he should’ve considered something similar for Amy, prodded her to call Rory or something. Of course, he couldn’t have known they’d end up engaged, in his defense. And picking him up was just inherently better, wasn’t it? No need to upgrade the cell phones just yet--well, it could never hurt, just because one of them wasn’t stuck on Earth didn’t mean they wouldn’t need to call every once in a while--
As if there were anywhere in the world he couldn’t get a silly little signal to--
