Dazai didn’t expect much from his day off—definitely not getting dragged to the beach by his annoying boss-slash-situationship Chuuya. But as the night unfolds, something strange happens. The festival clears out, familiar faces from both his ex management and ADA start showing up, and Chuuya is acting weirdly romantic.
Dazai thought he was hard to love. Chuuya proves him wrong—on one knee, under the lanterns, in front of everyone.

“You’re one to talk about being gorgeous,” Dazai replies, and despite his state, he manages to not stutter. Perhaps because it’s a fact—if Dazai’s gorgeous, as Chuuya claims, then Chuuya himself must be ethereal. Divine.
Instead of flustering further like expected, though, Chuuya just grins, sharp and confident. “Yeah. And as a certified gorgeous person, I deem you just as gorgeous, gorgeous.”

Silence.
Dazai turns, very slowly in his seat, like the earth on its axis, until he comes face to face with the culprit. “OdaSaku,” he says, pained. “My best friend… why have you forsaken me?”
Wherein Dazai invites Chuuya to Lupin, his sole two friends take the opportunity to gently bully and humiliate him under the guise of wingman-ing, and his regret is as deep and vast as the sea.
