Alex walked up beside Norma and grabbed the brown paper bag out of her hand, leaning over to give her a kiss on the side of her head as a thank you. It happened quickly, almost like a habit. Forgetting his lunch must have been a recurring thing. Or, he did it on purpose as an excuse to see his wife again during the day.
Susan longed for someone that would kiss her out of habit. One day, maybe.
