Summary
In his arms, Lottie gurgled and he looked down to see her blue eyes shining up at him. “Hey, babygirl.” He whispered, sitting down in the plush armchair, his voice coming out softer than he thought it ever had. “Hey, Lottie.” He held his pinkie finger gently over her, a choked laugh leaving his mouth when her little fingers reached up to wrap around it, holding it tightly. He glanced over at Norma, beautiful and still fast asleep, and smiled.

Summary
He was looking forward to the new year. Until four of his colleagues went down sick with the flu, leaving them short-staffed. And New Year’s was not the time to be short staffed. So, like any good Sheriff, Alex had agreed to cover their shifts, meaning he was working from six to six. Hopefully, the rabble that would be the main cause of his calls would pass out soon after midnight so he could just rest in his office or go back to the house and spend some of the night with Norma, Dylan, Emma and little baby Katie, especially since Norma had been pretty reluctant to let him go.
****
Alex spends most of his NYE alone, much to his annoyance, until he gets a call about three drunk and disorderly people by the pier.

Summary
He paused in the doorway, a smile tugging at his lips when he heard the soft sound of the piano coming from the living room. If Norma was playing the piano, that meant Lottie was definitely deeply asleep. Their daughter was obsessed with watching her mother play the piano, and if she heard Norma playing when she was trying to sleep she’d be out of her bed and downstairs like a rocket.

Five times Alex comes home to find Lottie awake past her bedtime, and the one time he comes home to find her fast asleep.

Summary
Maybe she was jealous—jealous that Alex had dated someone who could financially support herself. Or maybe she felt inferior or insecure. Whatever it was, it fueled her determination to rebuild a life for herself alongside her husband.

Summary
“I just finished the first chapter of that book,” he said, drawing Norma’s attention away from her concentration on the pages she was holding.
“Sheriff… I never knew you liked reading,” she said, holding back a giggle, knowing it was risky to be so friendly with a man she had just met—one who had only ever shown stoicism and a stern manner toward her.
He nodded politely, not particularly fascinated by the fact that she was clearly trying—and failing—to contain her smile. -

Summary
"What did you see?" Someone asks, but not the harsh, angry voice from a moment ago. This voice is softer, gentler, though no less menacing. If she's honest, the gentleness scares her even more than the anger, like a lion speaking to a lamb just a moment before sinking his teeth into its throat.
The lamb trembles.

Summary
A part of Norma was glad Alex never woke up. She was scared of having to explain it to him, her nightmares made her weak. Who had constant nightmares over their son killing them? It was pathetic. But another part of her was angry at him. Why didn’t he wake up to her nightmares? She wanted his comfort, wanted him to wrap her up in his arms and tell her it would all be okay. But he never did. She could slip out of bed without him ever waking up. Of course, that still came from almost two decades of being married to Sam. She never wanted to wake him up, if she could help it. So she had gotten good at sneaking around silently.

After Norman tried to kill her, Norma is plagued by nightmares, but she can't seem to find the courage to tell Alex.

Summary
A more dramatic rescue scene from Season 2, Episode 10 "The Immutable Truth," saving Norman from the box. But this time, the scene is a lot angsty because why not? And I made Norman a girl (idk). And Nick Ford makes the box way more deadly. And Dylan has more of a crisis.

Summary
Norma thinks she's already stepped far enough out of her comfort zone by getting on an airplane. Then she meets Ethel—a seventy-eight-year-old with zero filters, multiple ex-husbands, and very specific opinions about relationships.
What follows is seventy-five minutes of mortification, turbulence that's anything but mild, and unsolicited advice Norma will never unhear.
Missing scene from 'Strike a Match.' Contains major spoilers. Reading the main fic beforehand is highly recommended.

Summary
She’d told him, and she couldn’t believe that she had.
She’d told her sons, so it wasn’t the first time she’d spoken it out loud. She’d told her sons, but that had been different. They’d never seen her the way Alex had, the same parts of her body that Caleb had seen – touched, even.
And yet here Alex was, looking at her with a face so tender, so utterly free of judgment, or worse, disdain, that it defied reason. How could he still hold her body, her hands, her head, and not outwardly think about whose hands had done the same before? And when he finally leaned back – no, wrong, he didn’t, he waited – she did, as always – the only thing the expression in his eyes made her afraid of was that it wouldn’t be Chick who tracked her brother down and ended him.

This is basically a reader insert of what would it be if Norma Bates also had a daughter (that would be us, reader!). Because I'm so delusional for her that I needed this. I just want more comfort than the tv show can offer, that's how we ended up here.

Summary
She looked up, seeing a doctor run inside, and behind them, she caught sight of a panicked looking Alex. She tried to force a smile onto her face, hoping to reassure him, but then again he wasn’t in here. If he was really worried about her, he would be in here with her, surely? Or had he found her note? The one where she gave back his mother’s wedding ring. Why would he want to come in to visit her after the things she’d shouted at him in his office? He must just be here on official police business. He was the Sheriff after all. Tears welled in her eyes and she averted her gaze, missing the way his face crumpled and a tear fell down his cheek.

Norma recovers in hospital after Norman tries to kill her and she works through some things with both Dylan and Alex.
