No, he doesn’t just smell it, Jaemin becomes it, his skin nearly shedding at the full body shudder that engulfs him as he approaches the register like a man fucking possessed. Jaemin feels himself push a woman out of the way, a sound of grievance and upset coming from behind him, but he hardly hears it, completely gone from his own senses and driven by one thing alone: instinct.

Jaemin deserves to tear into him, Jeno thinks, to rip him limb from limb until there is nothing left but puddles of crimson and piles of meat. In the most visceral of ways, Jeno wants to bathe in his remorse, and not for pity's sake, but because he knows that Jaemin genuinely deserves better than how Jeno had treated him.

“You like scary movies, Jeno?” He asks lowly, the cockiness in his voice evident even through the barrier between them.
Jeno nods silently in reply, looking into those featureless black eyes, the layer of mesh hiding Jaemin’s natural warm brown from him. However, even through the obscuring fabric, Jeno can feel how heavy his gaze is in the lingering pause, both of them appearing to be holding their breath.

They both freeze. Jeno’s eyes draw up from the table to stare wordlessly at Jaemin, who just as wordlessly stares back. Then with a lick of his lips, Jaemin attempts to correct himself:
“I don’t mind the waist.”
The same verbal error comes out. This time, however, Jaemin's eyes drop down. Following the lines of Jeno’s apron and trail of his words, down his chest—
“The waist. Waist. No. No. Your waist. I mean. …fuck.”
Closing his eyes, Jeno sighs. He could stomach scaling buildings and jumping off roofs, breaking into places undetected and retrieving stolen data. But this? Trying to remain calm in the face of a gorgeous guy who likes him so much that it causes him to verbally malfunction? This is his hardest mission yet.
