Why is he always crying getting home from the bar? There's a passenger rating, also, he's pretty sure, but he has decidedly not checked it. 1 star. He got snot all over my backseat.
Eddie sniffles, sighs, and blows a bit of air out of the corner of his mouth, watching the hair that usually hides his eye dance in the air before falling flatly back onto his cheek, just as miserable as he feels. At this point, an outsider might think he just really hates getting in other people's cars. Or that he's crying thinking about the money he’s wasted by not doing the ‘wait and save’ option, trading ‘sitting alone at the bar for 20 extra minutes’ for ‘saving two dollars.’ That does sting just slightly, though it always stings when he has to spend money to get home, when he should already have a ride.
That’s the crux of it, really. It would be the most obvious data trendline he’s ever mapped for a presentation if it had landed on his desk at work, tucked away in a manila folder. Causation and correlation. He knows why he's always crying when he calls an Uber home from the bar. It's because he's having to call one at all.
It's because Benny isn't taking him home.
