    “Thanks for dinner.” Yibo said, hands in his pockets as they walked. “Want a ride?” His voice teasing but his eyes sincere.

    Xiao Zhan hesitated. “I don’t think that’s a good idea,” he said, his gaze drifting to the bike, then back to Yibo. “And you can thank me by letting me steal your dessert next time.”

    “Why not?” Yibo stepped closer, his smile softening. “Don’t trust me?”

    “I barely know you.”

    “Then let me change that.” Yibo’s voice was low, almost a whisper.
