It’s only been a year since the nerd disappeared. One second he was running through fire trying to save Katsuki like an idiot, the next they’d graduated middle school and he’d disappeared without so much as a goodbye. Not that Katsuki wanted a goodbye. He doesn’t give a shit that Deku left, but he should’ve stayed gone!
How dare he just waltz back into Katsuki’s life looking all big and tall and shit.
Or Deku is clearly being tall on purpose to ruin Katsuki’s life.

Summary
Katsuki watches as Deku tugs his wallet out of his pocket, pulling out a black card and handing it to the server, who takes it with a bow and disappears.
It’s weird to think, but wealth looks good on Deku. Maybe it’s because he’s self-made. He doesn’t wear it with arrogance, but instead with a quiet and humble sort of confidence, like it’s an everyday thing to hand over his credit card without even glancing at the check. Like it’s no big deal.
Not that it’s attractive, Katsuki assures himself. It isn’t that impressive.
Or Deku takes Katsuki somewhere fancy.

“Quirk?” Deku echoes, tilting his head as his confused expression recedes back into that ugly smirk. “You don’t have a quirk, Kacchan.”
Katsuki feels like the world is tilting on its axis. He feels sick.
What the hell is going on?
Deku doesn’t say ‘Kacchan’ like that, like Katsuki is a helpless little baby or something. And Katsuki does have a quirk. He does. It’s not his fault it doesn’t work! Deku did something. Katsuki is sure of it.
Or Katsuki wakes up in an alternate universe where he’s quirkless and Deku is his bully.

Balancing the pizza box on one hand, he knocks with the other.
“If you don’t answer the door in five minutes, I’m outta here!” he shouts.
Frankly, once his shift ends, Katsuki doesn’t give a damn if All Might himself opens those doors. He’s going home, making himself Cup Noodles with egg, and passing out on his futon.
But All Might doesn’t answer the door.
Someone much, much worse does.
“Sorry about the wait. I was just—Kacchan?!”
“DEKU?!”
Or Katsuki delivers pizzas to make ends meet.

Summary
“Why do you even do this shit?” he asks.
Deku turns his head so that he’s facing Katsuki. They’re only inches apart but for some reason Katsuki can’t find it in him to move.
“It helps with my anxiety,” Deku says, all sincere and down to earth and so not like Deku. Not like the jittery, quirkless kid who’s always got his head in the clouds, obsessed with being something he can’t. This Deku seems reasonable—or maybe Katsuki is just high. He feels all syrupy and slow, and so damn comfortable he thinks if he closed his eyes right now he could fall asleep. Except he can’t close them because Deku is staring into his eyes, all deep and shit, and Katsuki can’t look away, “and it feels good.”
Deku gives him a slow smile that makes Katsuki’s mind go blank for a second.
Or Katsuki tries weed for the first time.
