"If you’re hoping to get me drunk, I should warn you it’s not gonna happen."
Wolfwood grins. "Oh yeah?"
"Nope." Vash downs the shot and winces. "Wolfwood, this is awful."
Wolfwood pushes another glass across the bar. "Have another, it’ll get better." He watches their throat work as they swallow, not at all very subtly. "You really can’t get drunk?"
Vash sets down the empty glass, wrinkling his nose. "Not before you hit the deck, anyway."
And because Wolfwood can’t pass up a bad idea if his life depends on it, he raises his eyebrows and doesn’t even try to stop himself. “Is that a bet?”
Wolfwood loses a bet and has to quit smoking for a day. Vash helps him get through it.
