Summary
"Mel looked to the corner of the computer, May 2nd. St. Patrick’s had been more than a month ago. She froze in front of the screen.
“Doctor?” the patient’s voice snapped her back into reality. She finished the check up and sent her back to the waiting room while her labs came back. As soon as she was gone Mel opened her period tracker app, only to be met with a huge empty space that spanned six weeks."

Summary
“Becca, Dr. Langdon has to go. His family’s probably waiting for him.” She says, though she wishes she hadn’t.
“Well, actually, Abby and the kids are out of town. Her sister had a baby so…” he trails off, unsure of what to say next.
“Oh! Then, you’re more than welcome to join us, Dr. Langdon” Mel answers, smiling wide.
“It is my true honor to be invited to the King sisters’ friday movie night”
Or: five times Mel and Langdon watched a movie together + the one time they went to a movie theatre

Summary
"He should be home. Not some dingy bar on the other side of town. Home. Tucking the kids into bed, kissing Abby good night, going to sleep with her laying on his chest.
But the truth is, even if he were home, none of those things would happen."

Summary
“Okay,” Becca says with a nod, thankful to be able to focus on the movie again as she declares, “I’m still not calling you Frank, though.”
“I guess beggars can’t be choosers, can they?”
“Nope.”
Becca likes Dr. Langdon when she meets him during her emergency room visit. It’s later, when he's introduced to her as Mel's friend Frank, that she decides she isn't so sure.

Summary
"Oh my God," Mel breathes, turning to look at Frank. "That's a baby."
A weird, blob-like shape resembling a baby that will be a baby, at least. Their baby.
"Wow," he says from where he stands at her shoulder, but his voice is thick, and she looks up to find his eyes wet, glistening against the light from the screen. "Holy shit, Mel, that's our baby."
Mel grapples with her impending motherhood amidst caring for her sister, a fellowship program, and missing her own mom. Frank is the support she needs.

Summary
“So listen,” Robby says, “I heard you’ve uh, well, that you’re living with Dr. King. Is there any truth to that statement?”
Frank groans.
“Yeah, yes, I’m living with her,” he says and Robby gets that crazy look in his eyes so Frank barrels on, “It’s not like that. Robby it’s not,” and Robby doesn’t look like he believes him one bit. “I’m living in her spare room and I pay her rent. We’re roommates. That’s not a crime.”
or: frank gets out of rehab, gets divorced, and needs somewhere to live. enter mel.
