Summary
“Run away with me.” It’s gentle, so hushed- Yeonjun’s bottom lip barely even moves when he speaks. Run away with me. Run away with me. Like a broken cassette, it keeps repeating itself in Beomgyu’s head.
Their unsure hands tighten.
“Run- away- running away- where to?” Beomgyu replies, goosebumps adorning his arms through the silence.
“I don’t know, Beomgyu. I don’t fucking know. But i know that,” Yeonjun pauses, a single tear slipping between his bottom lashes. “wherever the hell we go, i just need to be with you. Please, lets just get away from everything- together.”

Summary
“Would you mind if I kissed you?” Beomgyu breaks the silence. “... like, again.” light shines on his face in an oil-painterly way. “right now. Because I really want to.”
But Beomgyu’s pretty face is almost blurry. Like the artist used too much paint thinner- like Yeonjun’s vision was thinning out every second his eyes spent more time focusing on the soft edges, shapes and shadows of Beomgyu’s face.
Yeonjun’s feelings collapsed into each other- it’s like a car crash, a train wreck- and he can’t seem to get out of it. Not with Beomgyu asking to kiss his lips.
Or, Yeonjun goes on a beach trip with his old college roommate Beomgyu, who he had a fling with- and tries to confess his feelings without losing his cool.

Summary
Yeonjun and his friends have a tradition:
At the beginning of summer, when they were all free, they would all meet up at Kai’s beach house in Monterey Bay for a week.
It didn’t matter how shitty your school year had been. It didn’t matter if you were on the wrong side of the country for it. All that mattered was the promise the five of them made when Yeonjun graduated from high school. That even when they all went their separate ways for university, they’d always find their way back to each other, even if it’s only for a week.
He looked forward to it every year.
But this year—he dreaded it, and it was all because of Beomgyu.
