It was just a name, and a name wouldn't affect anything. Humans were entertaining, though the boy who ate them was a cranky lonely child. That would be boring, assuming he survived their joining. But the boy, Luffy, ached for friends and fun. His need to be free of his fate was so strong that maybe... Maybe Nika would bend the rules just a bit. It would be a shame to not see how far the boy would go.
