OHHHHH my gosh this is MY FAVORITE twist and favorite execution of this Thorki dynamic. SO GOOD. 2011 Loki who absolutely detests what he is and thinks he's an unlovable and hateful monster, vs Thor who will stop at nothing to take and claim and love his brother. Very delicious inner conflict in Loki, who has always desired and fantasized about his brother, but who thinks that perfect and golden Thor could never actually want a beast like him - so it all has to be some kind of trap, a ploy, or a way to humiliate Loki. But Thor is not going to let that stand in the way of him loving his brother. This is just PERFECTION! wowie!!!

Absolutely incredible fic inspired by Hades and Persephone! Loki falling in love with Thor and wanting to keep Thor in Jotunheim, but knowing that Thor would hate him if Loki forced him to stay. Soooo good and full of pining and a great emotional arc.

What I love about this fic is that it's full of hurt/comfort and waiting and allowing boundaries. Loki is recovering from something, and Thor is there, trying to help him, but also trying to respect Loki's space and not push Loki in a way that will hurt him (though it's always so hard to know how to help someone when they won't talk about it, and though Thor isn't perfect, he does his best, and I think that's part of what makes this story so touching in a raw way). It has a lot of sexual content, but the main conflict and driving piece of the story is actually the unsaid emotions between them. It really captured me.
What I also like about this is that it delves into the experience of being trans/intersex/genderqueer in a very gentle, 'this is how Loki is, but we don't need to talk about it or explain it, this is simply who Loki is', and I enjoyed that a lot.

SO surprising, I expected this to be dark and angsty but it turned out to be incredulously enjoyable what with Loki's sheer inept attempts at convincing Thor he's evil and the very VERY horny scenes. The torture porn I was expecting turned out to be actual porn because a certain character was secretly pining and couldn't keep it in his pants despite being tied up.
